Professional Background

With over 20 years of diverse professional experience, Ahmed Ibrahim has built a strong career spanning education, consulting, technology, governance, and international development. He began his career as an accounting tutor, technical support expert, and consultant in business automation systems, later joining KPMG as a junior advisor, where he gained early exposure to professional audit and advisory practices.

In 2011, Ahmed was selected for the prestigious UNESCO Young Professional Programme (YPP) — a competitive global initiative by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. He went on to serve nearly a decade at UNESCO headquarters in Paris and various international field offices, contributing to global governance processes, programme oversight, and organizational accountability frameworks.

Ahmed currently serves as the Chief Internal Auditor of Maldives Post Limited, where he leads the internal audit function and supports the strengthening of institutional governance and risk management practices.

He also serves on the Ethics Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) and is a Co-Founder and Executive Committee Member of the Internal Audit Association of the Maldives (IAA Maldives), contributing to professional development and the advancement of the internal audit community in the country.
