Professional Background

Shifaz is an audit leader who believes progress creates impact and that the future of audit lies where people, systems, and purpose meet. With more than eight years of experience across information systems audit, financial audit, performance audit, and internal audit, he serves as the Manager of Information Systems Audit at the Auditor General’s Office of Maldives.

Shifaz is also a participant in the IDI SAI Young Leaders Programme 2024–2025, leading a transformative change strategy to embed integrated IT controls into public-sector financial audits. His leadership style blends a human-centric approach and curiosity, earning him recognition for making complex ideas simple, relatable, and actionable.

As a professional trainer, he delivers thought-provoking sessions on IS audit, audit mindset, technology adoption, and leadership. He actively advocates for a culture of continuous improvement, believing that small, consistent shifts can reshape how auditors think, work, and deliver value.

As a Fellow Chartered Accountant and active member of ACCA and ISACA, he contributes to elevating audit quality and regulatory standards. He plays a key role in shaping the profession through his work as a member of the Admissions & Licensing Committee of CA Maldives, and as an Executive Committee Member and Co-Founder of the Internal Audit Association of the Maldives (IAA Maldives).

At his core, Shifaz is driven by a mission: to bridge people and systems, and to help auditors see connections between data and decisions, between control and compassion, and between performance and purpose.
